April 1st – April 8th Announcements

Fire Night at the Pavilion- We will be hosting a fire night at the pavilion THIS WEDNESDAY, April 2nd! Join us for fellowship and a potluck-style dinner at 6 pm. Please note that all activities will begin at 6 pm, including dinner. Please bring a chair and a dish to share. (There will be special HK activities also!)

Learn Your Spiritual Gifts! – The only hands God has are your hands. The Bible tells  us that we are one body of believers with many different gifts. A Spiritual Gift is the primary channel by which the Holy Spirit ministers through believers. Highlands Church has subscribed to a spiritual gifts test and encourages everyone to take the test so we can learn and grow together in our giftings. There are no right or wrong answers! Just answer each question quickly and honestly. You will receive results and information on each of your gifts. We will hold classes in the future where you can learn about each gifting. Holy Week- Holy Week is quickly approaching! Please make plans to join us at the Jamestown Methodist Church April 14th – 18th at 12 pm for an encouraging word from a local pastor and a meal. Pastor Jason will be speaking on Friday, April 18th, and we will be providing lunch. We are needing Highlanders to bring sides, please sign up in the lobby. 

Griefshare, a 13-week Support Group for anyone dealing with loss, meets here at Highlands on Thursdays at 6 pm. For more information or to sign up, visit https://subspla.sh/28sns97.

The Faith & Fitness walking class is every Thursday at 5 pm at the church! Stop and see what it is all about, or talk to Angie Robbins.

GAP- God Answers Prayers, is an annual service ministry for youth and young adults. This year’s GAP Week will be June 22nd-27th, 2025. Supervised by adults, 8-12th grade students perform service projects for elderly and disadvantaged households in the Fentress County community. College-aged volunteers are needed as chaperones and leader apprentices. PLEASE SIGN UP by April 15th, to get on the list to participate. A sign-up sheet is next to the HK hallway. The deadline for discounted early bird registration is May 1st. Sponsors are also needed to fund participants. A $25 deposit holds a spot. Registration costs $75 if paid before May 1st, late registration is $100. If you have questions, see Jesika Delk or Larissa Buck.

Volunteer Opportunities: We’re growing and NEED faithful volunteers in EVERY DEPARTMENT! Join us in serving our Heavenly Father and His people! We hope to have enough volunteers so that each of us only has to serve once a month. There are sign-up sheets in the lobby for each department. 

Service Opportunities:

If you’re ready to serve or have a skill but aren’t sure where to start, stop by the admin office or contact a department leader. You can shadow with no commitment required! Let’s grow together!

OPPORTUNITIES: The Miller family is looking to hire for multiple positions at Millers Pizzeria in Byrdstown! If you are interested, see William or Bethany before or after service!

HIGHLANDS KIDS CHURCH (12 years and under): Children’s Church is available on Sundays & Wednesdays. Children are dismissed from the sanctuary after Worship. Please ensure your child/children are with you when they’re not in class. Thank you!

March 26-April 1 Announcements

YAH Movie Night– Highlands Young Adults is meeting this Friday, March 28th, in Cookeville to see the movie The Chosen: The Last Supper! It begins at 7:00 PM CT at the Highland 12 Theatre in Cookeville! It’s a great chance to experience this powerful story together and connect with friends. Don’t miss it! See you there! (This will take the place of their Sat. gathering.)

Free Medical Clinic, March 29th- Field Missions of Tennessee will offer a FREE medical clinic on Saturday, March 29th, from 10 AM-2 PM CST at the Pickett State Park Community Building. Patient Registration starts at 9:45 AM. Services are open to patients 18 years of age and older. Spots are first come, first serve. Fifth Sunday- This upcoming Sunday is Fifth Sunday, which means all tithes donated will go toward our building fund! While our church building is fully paid off, we have some major renovations coming up and need your support to help care for God’s house.

Tree Removal: Help Needed- Following service this Sunday, we will be cleaning up some of the trees that fell down during the last storm, as well as removing a few more from the property. If you would be willing to help, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. We will be providing lunch for those who help.
