Thank you to everyone who supported the HK Christmas Bazaar.  The event has raised more than $2,300 so far. Thanks to the 21 amazing vendors, volunteers, donors, food preparers (John Wheeler for his pulled pork and Wade Delk for his chili), and everyone who worked so hard to make this a success! The proceeds will fund trips for kids in our community. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, sold their goods, donated, and shopped!  The raffle for an amazing brand-new Miter Saw is still available until December 15! The Rotary Club Christmas Parade is this Saturday, December 7, starting at 10 am. Highlands will have a float in the parade this year! Titled “From the Manger to the Cross.” The float will feature familiar faces of our youth as Mary and Joseph. Also in the parade will be Glenn and Ruby Wilson manning the Creation Station, complete with some surprise appearances! NOTE: There will be a meeting in HK3 after service on Wednesday, December 4th, for everyone in the Parade and helping with the float.

Department Heads – don’t forget there will be a planning luncheon after service on Sunday, December 8th, to review next year’s calendar of events. 

Highlands Christmas Party! On Wednesday, December 18th, we will celebrate the Christmas season with an evening of food, fellowship, and games. Stay tuned for more info. Families will eat together in the Cafe, and then our Highland’s Kids will enjoy their festivities in HK2 at 6:30.

Highland’s Christmas Service will be on Sunday, December 22nd . 

Volunteer Opportunities: 
Highlands Kids– We are still in need of teachers and helpers in our Highlands Kids Department. If you want to volunteer, see the HK Welcome Desk for an application. 

Parking Team– We also need faithful servants for our Highlands Parking Team! If you want to join this terrific crew, there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

Chrysalis, an Emmaus experience for teens ages 15-24, is scheduled for January 2-4, 2025, at the Crossville First Methodist Church. To learn more about this opportunity, see Timmy King or Lisa Roysden. We also have a couple of teens looking for sponsors! If you know of a teen interested in attending, please ask about getting an application in fast! Young Adults Highlands (YAH) – This group for high school graduates through age 30, meets again this Saturday, December 7th, at 5:30 pm, with meetings every other week. Come learn more about the finished work of Christ and enjoy fellowship opportunities! There is a signup sheet in the foyer! Contact Eden for more info. 

Hurricane Outreach Opportunity- Mrs. Mary is collecting supplies to assist the North Carolina / East TN Flood Victims! She is collecting gloves, scarves, hand warmers, and Walmart bags! There is a collection bin outside of the Administration office.

The perfect Christmas gift! Highlands Church of the Cumberlands Cookbook – Feeding the Flock is available for $10 at the HK Desk. The cookbook has nearly 200 recipes from our Highlands cooks. All funds benefit Highlands Kids!

Save the date! The Highlands Kids Lunch and Training Day is Sunday, January 26, after service. Training is for those signed up and serving in HK. If you would like to serve, please be sure to return your application!

HIGHLANDERS STUDENTS (ages 13 through 12th grade): On Wednesdays, the youth meet immediately after worship in the HK3 classroom.

HIGHLANDS KIDS CHURCH (12 years and under): Children’s Church is available on Sundays & Wednesdays. Children are dismissed from the sanctuary after Worship. Please ensure your child/children are with you when they’re not in class. Thank you!
