NEW! Daily Portions Laundry Outreach – Saturday, November 16th, Noon to 4 pm. We will be serving those in need in the community by prepaying for their laundry, as well as providing the love and care, food and services that a Daily Portion outreach is known for. We will set up a food station behind the Union Bank. ATTENTION DAILY PORTION VOLUNTEERS, we will be meeting after church this Wednesday, November 6th, to discuss details.
NEW! -Thanksgiving Dressing Preparation Planning! Our church is once again blessed to provide dressing for the community-wide Thanksgiving Dinner hosted at the Jamestown Methodist Church. This year we need to provide 35 pans. The cost is $12 per pan of frozen, pre-prepared stuffing. You simply need to bake the pan/pans of dressing you purchased the morning of Thanksgiving and deliver them to the Methodist church by 9 am. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. To pay for your dressing, label it “Thanksgiving dressing” and put your name on it. Once it’s labeled you can stick it in the wall box labeled “tithe-offering” in between the men’s bathroom and the security office.
Can’t help with dressing? Highlands Church volunteers will also be needed to cut pies the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving (we will not be having church service), and to deliver meals to any home-bound neighbors on Thanksgiving Day. If you wish to be involved, please sign up at the info table.
-OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (O.C.C.): This project of Samaritan’s Purse makes a substantial impact on children’s lives all around the world. Highlands Church has upped its goal this year to fill 1,000 boxes with toys, clothing, games, and other needed items. If you would like to pack a shoebox, some are in the hallway for you to grab! Please have them back to the church on Wednesday, November 13th. If you do take a box, please be certain you bring it back so we can ensure we send 1,000 boxes. Thank you to everyone who donated to the OCC Change Collection, we raised just under $700!

NEW! Wanted – 10 More HK Teachers! Our Highlands Kids Teachers are amazing! The goal is for each teacher to serve once a month. Pastor Ami Watson is looking for a few awesome folks to serve. Right now we need 4 Teachers for Sundays, and 3 on Wednesdays, which will make it possible for our team to be fully staffed! Helpers are also always welcome! Interested but unsure? Just let the office know! Training will be provided in January.
Introducing Young Adults Highlands (YAH) – a new group for high school graduates through age 30. Come and learn more about the finished work of Christ and enjoy opportunities for fellowship.
